Media and Entertainment Services

Media and Entertainment companies are facing an almost "overnight" push into digital delivery and management. With more than a decade of experience we can help support consumer demand, find incremental revenue streams and integrate DRM based controls

Intraware provides services that can be used by producers of entertainment content such as movies, TV programs, music, games and for web sites that sell that content. Based on ten years of experience and proven technology used to deliver enterprise software applications, Intraware's services include entitlement control, content licensing, large file transfers, and retail channel management that enable producers to retain control over their copyrighted content while providing a high level of consumer satisfaction.

Entitlements
All of Intraware's services are entitlement-based and are used to control access to content over the course of time, for any number of products, and across one's combined commerce transactions. Access to content, such as subscriptions, can change over time, and can be established for limited durations (when rented) or forever (when purchased). At any point in time, consumers have access to exactly the set of products they are entitled to view or play at that moment. Intraware's services support single purchases, bundles of products, subscriptions, and limited-time entitlements.

The overview diagram below shows how the pieces can fit together and how the constituents interact with Intraware's Media and Entertainment Services:

Fast File Transfer
Users' network bandwidth is increasing, but file sizes, especially of high definition video, are also getting larger. Intraware focuses on providing high-capacity networks, advanced high-speed upload and download technology, and the storage required to keep those files stored for as long as the producer wants them. In particular, Intraware has partnerships with next generation file transfer technology companies that can get the most speed out of existing networks, securely, and over global distances. All transfers are governed by having valid entitlements.

Next Generation Digital Rights Management (DRM)
By partnering with providers of software that runs on consumer electronic devices and is integrated to Intraware's hosted services, Intraware can offer innovative methods of digital rights management. Intraware can leverage the latest technologies for device identification and digital watermarking, while providing flexible policies that enable optimal control for producers without the unfriendly, overly restrictive, and ineffective access controls found in other DRM solutions. As with the rest of our services, the entitlement is the key.

Digital Vault
Perhaps the most appreciated feature of Intraware's service is that it creates virtual vaults for consumers that contain all of the products that they have purchased or rented, which remain available to them. Consumers log into the digital repository with their private login identification and password, and then can access all of their products from any location and perform a high-speed download to any device, as long as the applicable DRM rules allow it

Sales Channel Services
Entertainment content is available from a large number of retail outlets, both online and in stores. Using its experience in the enterprise software sales ecosystem, Intraware provides services that allow ecommerce sites to sell, rent, or provide subscriptions to content, while empowering producers to control and track who can sell what. Producers load content only once, and then designate virtual inventory to the sales channels. Third-party sites can integrate their ecommerce systems into the Intraware services, and then have the content delivered via a site that is branded in their own look and feel, retaining their valuable customers.

Reporting
Because all downloading, viewing, or usage activity is based on entitlements to consumers and is logged in Intraware's systems, very detailed reporting is available to producers and sales partners. Reports for producers can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of product offerings, DRM policies, or of sales channels, all of which can help producers more effectively market their products. Gone are the days of disintermediation, where end users are hidden from the producers.
